Michael “Midget” Pierre joined Vybe Radio in September 2017 as the sports news presenter and has been a consistent member of The Banter team. Arguably the most popular radio sports programme locally, The Banter has helped the station grow immensely among listeners here and abroad. The programme takes keen interest in the various sporting disciplines and the management and administration of sports.

Aired from Monday through Friday, right after the Morning Sports News, the morning sports programme also involves spirited discussions to bring focus on issues facing sports worldwide. Co-anchoring the programme with sports enthusiasts Winsbert Louison and Elijah Williams, Pierre helps to dissect the nitty gritty of the sports world while allowing listeners to be part of the real-time discussions via social media platforms.

Pierre’s vast experience as a sports administrator spans nearly four decades, including a lengthy stint with the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, which augurs well for the sports side of Vybe Radio.

“I love the fact that we get to discuss sports in a frank and entertaining way,” Pierre says. “It makes for great listening, learning and sharing of views. All my life, I’ve been involved in sports. So I feel quite at home at Vybe Radio, bringing my experience to bear on the subject.”
